Unreliable Modem Commands Disappoint Computers

This modem's interface commands are UNRELIABLE and frustrating. It`s difficult to set up a consistent connection and troubleshooting is a nightmare. The only positive aspect is its compatibility with older computers. Unfortunately, this is not enough to make up for the headaches it causes. The lack of consistency and reliability makes it a poor choice for those who depend on their modem for work or personal use..

Pros
  • Easy and user-friendly interface commands for the Wavecom Q2303A
Cons
  • Requires knowledge of AT commands to operate effectively

I bought two modems and neither worked. and in a laptop running Ubuntu 16.04. I followed the instructions: downloaded and installed the PL2303 driver. Windows Device Manager looked fine, I could see "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM3)". However, I could not send AT commands to the router with PUTTY, the terminal window hung, with Ubuntu the dmesg command

Pros
  • Computers and accessories
Cons
  • Very expensive
