🔋 Powerful and Versatile: Oster 6684 12-Speed Blender in Sleek Black Finish Review

Just as great as the one that was 10 years old. A very old blender still works but is starting to stop so I bought a new one and this one. Wow, that's even better than a 10 year old. I mix cat food (I have a blistered cat so she needs soup) and I mix almonds for almond milk (and yes, making your own almond milk is a lot cheaper than buying almond milk and it tastes great) and cashews for almond milk. Vegan mozzarella cheese. I use this almost every day. Aha! Perfect!

My new mixer arrived last Friday, 03/12/20. My wife has only used it 3 times. Today she used it for about 5 minutes and it made a loud noise. I thought it was the "blades" of the blender and I thought they were loose and I tightened them to see if the loud noise would stop but it didn't. I bought this because Oster has always had good quality. It is not. It will come off the counter by itself, it vibrates so much. The glass pitcher rotates on the base. I had to stick with my regular Hamilton Beach, the last blender I've had since the '70s, and that's Harvest Gold if you need proof. Everything on the bottom wobbles terribly. I've only used it twice but it works very well! You can tell it's quite powerful; It's also very loud, but damn it's a mixer, how is it supposed to be quiet? Also has a good size; can easily make at least 2 very large drinking cups, possibly more if you fill it to the top. It mixes whatever you put in it pretty quickly (a few seconds) as long as there is enough liquid to keep it all moving (as they explain well). It is mature in terms of strength, mixing performance, speed and cleaning options.

I have an older version of the same product that still works great. Based on that experience, I expected this one to be relatively equal. However, I am disappointed with the overall quality. It's very loud, it sounds very high pitched like it's fighting, and the case feels very cheap. It has difficulty crushing frozen fruit even when adding a large amount of liquid (e.g. water). This is a decent blender for the price. Parts are available on Amazon when they run out after a few years, so don't be like me and throw away your last one thinking it can't be fixed with a new grommet or blades. Maybe!
