Works perfectly. Best Tools & Equipment

My 2002 Ford Escape XLS failed the test after the battery died. My mechanic kept telling me to keep going. This device told me that the catalytic converter was finally working. I was finally able to pass the exam. I didn't have to constantly go to my mechanic to check if the exhaust sensors were ready. It worked great on my 2002 Ford Escape XLS and 2011 Honda Accord V6 EX-L.

OTC 3108 OBD 2 Code Reader

Within its limitations, this code reader did the job for me. Should be a must have for anyone going about their business. My intended use was on a 2001 Mercedes SL500, I had to buy a 38 pin adapter cable (see Revain) to get the code reader working for me. Works great and saves money by staying away from the MBZ dealer. The code reader can be connected to most other cars without an adapter cable!

Great for quickly diagnosing problems

I have replaced several ignition coils on my car over the years. I took it to the dealer multiple times and had to pay hundreds of dollars for diagnostics and labor. I found that I used this to identify the cylinder that needed a new coil and then just replaced it myself. Fast and easy to use. It has some limited sensor data, but I don't use it for that.

Pros
  • Code Reader and Scanner
Cons
  • Expensive
