Description of OTC 3630 Battery Powered Continuity

Designed to test any type of non-live electrical circuit. Use to track down broken wires, bad grounds, and blown fuses quickly. Features a heavy-duty stainless steel probe with insulated shaft, heavy-duty clip with positive soldered connection, and a slim, ergonomically designed clear handle. 12 foot long red coil cord. Includes one AAA battery and one low voltage replaceable bulb.

does not work best in Tools & Equipment area

Does not work right out of the box. The battery started eating at the terminals. had to replace the battery and clean the terminals before I could get it to work. If I didn't need it for tomorrow's submission I would send it back. Bought OTC due to good luck with their other products.

Very well built. - Electrical System Tools

That's what they say. Also, I cut the old screwdriver shaft down to AAA battery size and now I can switch between on and off. It's great for the price and well built. I bought OTC 3633-10 (red) bulbs in addition to the two supplied spare bulbs. They fit just right.

Needs work - power tools

The light is not very bright in fact it is quite dim compared to other continuity testers and the sheath on the end of the clamp is quite tough, good grip and the Length of cord is good but tooling requires some work. The Sperry CT6101 is ten times brighter, but the cable is stiff and the clip is small. So I'm still looking for the best tool.

Great design but not bright enough

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and design of this tester but was quickly disappointed on first try. The bulb just isn't bright enough in my opinion. Not at all. I do not understand. With today's LED technology, I don't understand why this manufacturer uses such a weak little bulb that barely lights up. I understand it only uses one cell, but I'd rather use 2 batteries if that means I could actually see the light. It works great in darker rooms, but just isn't good enough for use in…
