OttLite T18330 Replacement Tube Bulb Review

As other reviewers noted, the tube didn't fit our lamp. There are raised triangles at two corners of the nest. The original tube had cutouts that allowed the tube to go all the way in, but the replacement tube doesn't have those cutouts. I solved the problem by opening the top of the lamp and removing the locking triangles with needle nose pliers. It's pretty easy since the triangles are hollow. I have three OttLites with 18 watt bulbs. When it came time to replace one of the bulbs, I found that the "knurled" ones that matched my bulbs were no longer available. This bulb IS a replacement for OttLite OEM 18W; Packaging and the lamp itself "officially" from OttLite. The light output is EXCELLENT - it emits full spectrum light. We bought it for a large OttLite floor/reading lamp. The lamp we replaced had two "notches" in the base that this lamp does not have; its base is smooth and without notches. This bulb fits my Ott-Lite Crane table lamp. It lights up. There's nothing remarkable about that. So she gets three stars because... it's okay. My Crane lamp is at least six or seven.
