🔪 Out of the Woods of Oregon 17-by-8-Inch Knife Board with Slicer: Efficient Cutting & Chopping Solution Review

Bought for slicing homemade bread. The knife is wonderful, very sharp, the bread does not crush. The set is beautifully made. The only caveat I have is that the wood will (obviously) leave a lot of cuts, so I started using a plastic cutting mat to make sure my board is germ free and doesn't look too shabby.

This cookware goes great with my homemade bread, hot or cold. I was looking for a knife that would cut my hot homemade bread (that I bake in my bread maker) and this is just the ticket. My bread used to be sticky, but not anymore. The only downside I see is that it was made specifically for this purpose. So if you want to use it to cut a really wide piece (e.g. over two inches wide) it won't fit between the wood and the teeth.

This knife and cutting board combo is great. It's not only beautiful (red alder with maple and walnut accents) but also amazingly functional! This board and slicer came to me looking for bread slicing guides and they looked great so I wanted to believe it could be a more reliable replacement for ours Second would be guide for cutting Norpro which is perfect but not very durable. It turns out that the stripe in the picture that looks like a guide isn't one. I had my doubts about needing a "special" knife to cut bread. I mean, what's so unusual about a knife? It's sharp and it cuts. Isn't every knife?
