big disappointment best in accessories

big disappointment here i picked these up with a smith helmet and i thought bragging about 40mm riders would deliver. Pros - Great packaging and presentation - Headphones have a nice premium feel - Easy to set up and install. Cons: - the volume was very low even with the phone maxed out and line control built in - the moment you want them to get loud there's a terrible tinny sound - I can barely hear others, when you receive phone calls. Very very disappointed as it didn't serve its original…

Great sound in the motorcycle and power sports sector

So far, so good! Once delivered to the Revain Locker just before a ski trip, the speakers slip easily into my helmet's earcups and the cord is neatly tucked away behind the liner. I skied for two days and listened to music the whole time and the sound was really good. The built in volume control was clipped to my jacket and was very easy to adjust even with gloves on. The pause button, next track, etc. didn't work with the small MP3 player I used, but it didn't make much of a difference and…

Broken cable in one season, bad cable quality - avoid

it worked great from the start. However, it doesn't work in Season 2 due to a connection problem in the cable. Cables break when twisted etc. Another issue when using with Type-C to 3.5 adapters as many new cellphones have dropped 3.5, not sure if it's these headphones or Type-C in general the headphone button doesn't work at all. and it's no mica. As a result, I have to get my cell phone and use the speakerphone for all calls. No, I will not recommend this product due to the quality of the…

I like the design, wish they were louder.

The only complaint is that they aren't loud enough. I was kind of hoping for the deafening power of the heavy bass, but even with all the volume controls at maximum it's still just "nice" if that makes any sense. I'm used to in-ear headphones (cheap, not expensive) that make me cringe at maximum volume. With these chips, I hear music clearly, but the bass is tinny and everything seems muffled. Of course it plays through the fabric of the helmet's ear cup and then through the fabric of my face…

Painfully fragile wiring, easily breaks

For the past 4 years I've had two sets of chips and every time they failed because the wiring got into the "main channel" they curled up and broken in the shield. To be honest I can NOT recommend this brand or their ICs anymore because of this problem. Outdoor Tech, if you're reading any of these reviews, do yourself a favor: Reinforce the wiring and shielding so it's harder to crimp and damage the wiring. due to "more compact" setups (like the 12–13 Bern Winter Liner for their EPS helmets)…

Okay, but reliability issues.

First of all I want to say that when it works it is fantastic - good sound, easy to use, no complaints about its performance in this regard. My only issue is that it seems to stop responding to random input. I pressed to start the song (on both the headphone button and the handset), it wouldn't turn on, then after half an hour it just turned on and started responding again. I tried a few things to see if there was a rhyme or reason for the cause (weak connection, app not responding, button…

Would buy them again

I bought the wired version because a lot of wireless reviews said poor connectivity (and because of the $100 price difference, I decided to try the $37 version). I've used them for 3 consecutive days skiing in -15 degrees and have had NO PROBLEMS with sound or connectivity. It's a bit fiddly trying to thread a wire through a ski jacket every time I take my helmet off, but it literally takes about 30 seconds. It would be better if the connector was closer to the helmet without having to remove…

Terrible customer service and a huge design flaw

Overall good headphones for a helmet. It can be difficult at times to push the button in your ear through the earcups with gloves on, but it works and sounds good. What worries me in the long run is that the audio jack that connects to the speakers is quite long and had to be tucked into the ear cushions. I'm afraid that one day it will break. I would have preferred it to be L-shaped instead. UPDATE 2/2018 As I already suspected, the cable "torn" and now tears more often. Although the company…

It's pretty cool. i like the button UPDATED

You are very cool. I like the in-ear button that lets you pause/play and switch songs. Even if the volume could be louder. And it was a bit buggy with my phone where if I paused it for a long time my music wouldn't play again just by pressing the button on the speakers. I've taken them on a 3 day ski trip so far and they've held up. .UPDATE FROM THE FUTURE 01/31/2019 They broke. The connection between the cable and the handset is a definite weak point and now has a very intermittent connection…
