OWC 16GB (2 X 8GB) PC14900 DDR3 ECC-R 1866MHz DIMMs Memory Compatible With Mac Pro Late 2013 Models Review

It was great. Easy to install and turned my 16GB Mac Pro into a 64GB Mac Pro. But after 8 months my Mc Pro would not turn on or turn on again. After reading it, it sounded like a RAM issue. I took out this ram, replaced the stock ram and earned it. Put them back and don't go. So they failed after 8 months.

My Mac Pro is about 5 years old now and overall it still works very well. Unfortunately, over the years, programs have been using more and more RAM, so my 32 GB that I originally installed was no longer enough and I had to keep closing programs. Enter this RAM chipset. I ordered these with low expectations as the price is too good to be true. Well they were easy to install and I booted up my computer and I have SO MUCH RAM TO USE. I've been working for several days with no problems.

The product does not work when installed on my CPU it does not turn on. But when I get my old memory back, it works. I checked if my board is compatible with this memory module. But unfortunately it doesn't work. It is very difficult to return an item as I am based in the Philippines and there is no easy way to return it. I'm just wasting my money with this memory module.

WARNING. Not compatible with Micron MT9JSF51272AZ 4GB RAM sticks commonly used in Mac Pro. Let's say you have 12GB of RAM and you want to add 8GB to get 20GB. Will not work. I had to buy 2x of these to get 16GB and forgo other RAM sticks. Probably only works with 4GB OWC modules. Therefore warnings about RDIMMs are misleading as OWCs only work with OWCs.
