Does the job perfectly.

I didn't realize I needed a new and different bracket to install 6TB or larger drives on my older Mac Pro 4.1 until I tried to install it. I am very happy that this simple product exists and I was able to easily install a 6TB drive as soon as I got my hands on it. Build quality appears to be as good as the original Apple mounts.

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Works as well as the OEM sled

These are great mounts for an old Mac Pro. Some of the newer server hard drives have mounting screws in multiple locations and work just like the original Apple sled, but have multiple mounting locations for a variety of drives.

  • Availability
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

This is the perfect solution for installing a new hard drive (especially 8TB internal drives) in your Mac Pro. Some genius decided to change the position of the screws on the bottom of the drives, making this adapter absolutely necessary to add new internal drives to the device. I have only had good experiences with OWC so far.

Does what it says on the box

Ideal for securely installing new high-capacity (8GB+) hard drives in a classic Mac Pro tower. Adds a 3rd location for hard drive mounting screws (the screws need to be moved to the appropriate location on the holder). If you're frugal, you can try using a standard Mac Pro 2-bolt holder that still fits the drive and use another method to secure the other half of the drive, such as a B. strong adhesive tape. That may be fine in a pinch, but it's not a reliable long-term solution. Take this OWC…

  • Comfortable

Works with Mac Pro "Cheese Graters "

Purchase of a new higher capacity (8GB) drive with new mounting screw orientation. New screw alignment requires replacing a new bracket in Mac Pro 4.1 and 5.1. It worked. Looks like the original except for a small sticker with compartment number. Easy installation like the original.

This product has no competition so these guys are milking us for this much needed part. It wasn't meant to be and prior to this purchase I had always had a positive attitude towards OWC. However, this tells me that they make money at a ridiculous markup on specialty items. The 2 extra screw holes doesn't cost the extra $5 compared to a regular sled. But they will, hey, still understand and smile, because it's about the expandability of our Macs. It's just that I'm worried enough that if I'm…
