I purchased this kit to replace the hard drive in my mid-2011 iMac with an SSD. The kit has everything and more for the task. If that's all you use it for, there are many tools you won't use. I just used a screwdriver, suction cup and tweezers. Everything else was unnecessary for the task I was doing. However, they are worthy tools and I might find other uses for them in the future.

Everything came as described. I installed a 1TB SSD in my 2010 iMac. The installation took over 4 hours just because I cleaned my machine on the go, it took me a while to undo all the screws and I had a hard time installing the SATA cable (I had to flip it over so the text was on the cable faces down when you put it in the slot.) My brother also helped me play/pause and analyze the video when I was doing manual work, which was helpful.

Honestly everything is fine. Glue! This made it almost impossible to remove the paper from either side of the foam tape. The power Y cable has a grommet which is unnecessary and takes up a lot of space. everything you need, but it is clear that the tools are inferior. It generally works for the task of installing an SSD into an iMac, but overall quality seems lacking.

The set I received was not the same as pictured. To replace a drive in a 2010 iMac, you need a T8 driver and thermal cable. It wasn't in my kit either. According to the OWC website, I got a kit to add a drive to an iMac. Adding a drive is much more difficult than replacing it. To add, remove all of the screws that secure the motherboard, move them out of the way, and then connect the new data cable. This procedure is well beyond the skills of a beginner.
