I love this instrument! Bought last spring but not used much yet. I just cooked 6 pounds of potatoes for a large holiday gratin and it worked. I like the solid stainless steel construction. I really wanted to love this product but it's not that good. I was so excited to try it before it arrived because I've always been an OXO fan. But the thing doesn't work properly. It has a sharp knife and a blade that slices quickly, but the design falls short on some small vegetables like carrots and cucumbers that have little surface area to be held by a protective holder. This is a great tool I mainly use the mandolin for chopping, slicing and chopping vegetables for salads. Oxo did a great job developing this tool. It is easy to use and easy to clean. I have no problem storing it in one of my kitchen drawers. It cuts cabbage and other vegetables as thin as paper.
