First of all - Very small - I thought it was my fault for not reading the fine print so I measured it. It's barely 3 1/8 inches wide and 3 inches high. THEN - returned and it says NON-RETURNABLE. I was willing to eat $6-7 back just to get rid of it. - But no. Very disappointed.

Product arrived broken

My product arrived broken with a broken soft grip. According to Revain, this product cannot be replaced or refunded. Oxo customer service says Amazon is responsible, sorry after waiting over 2 weeks for a reply. Sometimes as a consumer you get knocked down in this Freddie corporate world. Seriously, I just want to make smooth mashed potatoes. I understand very well that everything can break. But no help from the seller or manufacturer!

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Socket required

My new favorite gadget!

I made the best mashed potatoes I've ever tasted the first time I used this rice cooker! I took the advice of some other reviewers and cut them into pieces that easily fit in a rice cooker, closing the handles was easy and I don't have big or strong hands. When I finished cooking the potatoes, I quickly rinsed out the rice cooker. I was amazed at how easily the pieces came loose at that moment; Washing up after dinner was a breeze. I would highly recommend this rice maker, wish I had it if I've

Totally disappointing, very small and poorly made

Totally disappointing. First, this thing is so small that it won't fit in a decently sized pot. I was blown away by the size when it arrived. Okay, so I put it in a smaller pot. The size of a large apple does not fit in the basket. Its diameter is probably 3.5-4 inches. I used it for fried red potato rice and instead of fitting snugly in the basket, the mashed plate felt slightly smaller, so the extra potatoes flew out of the top block instead of being mashed. There was approximately 20% waste…

The Real Deal: Kitchenware & Gadgets

This tool has changed my life for the better (both emotionally and BMI). Whisk gently to combine. Add dairy products. Finish switching on. Adjust spices. die happy An unusually high quality tool for most kitchen appliances you buy today. I feel like I pick on a lot of…

Just fun! good for mashed potatoes and rice machines

Ideal for small batches of mashed potatoes, carrots etc and for squeezing water out of thawed batches of frozen spinach. I cook for myself and too often settle for less than the best. Frozen meals, instant potatoes. You know what to do. But I love good food, and at least this gadget makes it easy and fun to make real mashed potatoes in time for roasting chicken. Russets or Yukon Gold, of course. Cut into cubes, bring to a boil, then cook for 25 minutes and strain well. The more water you can…

Works very well! Best in Kitchen & Dining

Admittedly, this is the first rice maker I've ever bought, so I have nothing to compare it to other than traditional mashing methods that have been used since time immemorial. It's very well made (I've dropped it twice without breaking anything). Depending on the size of the bowl you are using, you can set the rice cooker on top while adding the cooked potatoes. Provided you've cooked the potatoes long enough, you can even push them through this thing with their skin on! My son was very…
