Plugged in today and regardless of the settings, the fan speed and noise will fluctuate instead of making a constant noise. I'm not sure if it's just my fan or model. This great fan is worth its price. The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was the fan. Assembly is very simple, no tools are required unless you use a height extender. I opted for an extension so you'll need a Phillips head to secure it, but that's about it. Very easy, setup takes no more than a few minutes. I connected it to the network. I bought this after buying Laska, originally intended for my living room. But Lasko's rotary bow was too narrow (I ended up using Lasko in my bedroom, which was perfect). First I would like to solve the problem everyone had about the display being too bright in a dark bedroom. If you hold down the mode button on the fan for about 3 seconds, the bright display disappears and only the faint moon and star icons remain. Also, my fan does NOT click during oscillation. Pros: * It has a slim profile and looks quite good compared to tower fans. Mostly unobtrusive. * It is relatively quiet when new. Almost silent at the lowest speed and not annoying at higher speeds. * The remote control is excellent.
