Description of ⚡ PAC PAC-200 200 Amp Relay Battery Isolator: A Superior Standard for Efficient Power Management

Mobile Audio Relay and Battery Isolator. Great for isolating a second battery making it dedicated to the stereo system. Does not create a voltage drop to the second battery like conventional isolators. 200-Amps at 12-volt Continuous Power Handling. Draws Less Than 1-Amp When On.

So far, so good. I bought a 200A isolator as overkill for control.

So far, so good. Bought a 200A isolator as overkill to power a small battery in my truck cab that runs an amp/subwoofer and small inverter. Tested on a multimeter after installation and everything reads as it should except for a slight consumption when switched off as the head unit is still powered by the main battery.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • No instructions

When my car starts, the battery voltage shoots up.

When my car starts, the battery voltage jumps (from 12.5v to around 13.5v) and I have had no problems draining the car battery. The only problem I have is the ground connection. right next to 2 big pros. I had sparks everywhere when I installed it. In the next release, consider moving this clamp or installing a secondary ground clamp.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • So far so good

Starters are already rusting

Something on the terminal block hardware doesn't work, but within 2 days the corrosion washed out! I will replace everything on it with stainless steel and see if anything changes. Mounted in the engine bay so it's sheltered/protected from direct rain and it's on a project car that hasn't been driven so it only shows humidity but is still leaching.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Useless features

The battery isolator is a great idea.

I used this to add another battery to my GMC Denali, Yukon and Suburban short circuited. I noticed they dropped the dual battery system for 2009 but kept the battery holder with extra wire, fuses and this item. I now have a dual battery system in my 2009 GMC Denali.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Big and chunky

DO NOT DISCONNECT FROM STARTER BATTERY!

I had to install a switch between the switch and the ignition fuse to prevent the car from using my house batteries when starting. When I installed according to the manufacturer's instructions, I noticed a large voltage drop when I started my car. After installing the switch I don't get any more brownouts as I now start my car and THEN turn on the isolator. It still charges home batteries well but disappoints in design as it is not isolated from starter batteries.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Easily repairable

I love the best jump starters, chargers and portable power supplies

Has worked flawlessly on my 07 Frontier for the last 9 months. Install the dual battery in the back of the truck. This insulator prevents the batteries from discharging each other. When the key is removed, the batteries are disconnected. When the key is turned on, the batteries are connected and charged by the generator. With this setting, you can also change the starter battery in no time if necessary. Make sure the cable is sized to match the maximum output of the starter and alternator. I…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • The list will go on.

It seems some (including me) are confusing how PAC chose to label it.

Please consider this device as a simple 200A relay. Nothing superfluous. Yes it can be used as a battery isolator but it was never designed for that. The term "battery isolator" conjures up the term "intelligent" or "voltage sensitive". It doesn't do any of that, and "ability and perception" begins and ends with the user, you (and me). If connected properly, it can connect 2 batteries when starting the car and keep them connected throughout the car driving time. If the car stops (i.e. the key…

Pros
  • Annual test period
Cons
  • Interval
