Perfect fit, the old light works again!

Put the original ballast next to this replacement and they look the same. The only difference between them is that the new one has shorter power cords. After installing the ballast I cut and stripped the native wires closer to the new ballast and connected the wires with wire nuts. In fact, this installation method is easier than reconnecting new ballast in the ceiling, and that may be the intention.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Good quality fuses: Fuses

I bought these to replace a blown fuse in a digital VOM I bought to monitor electrolytic capacitors for capacitive overvoltage. I've always used this as the first test on a capacitor. These fuses work fine and now my little multimeter works. If you try to measure voltage with a meter set for current, this fuse will always blow. It happens to all of us from time to time. Those fuses did the job and I'll keep them handy here.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

What is the most important thing to know?

So we have some fluorescent lighting in the basement of our church that we got from Home Depot a few years ago. Recently one of the lights stopped working. We assumed that the round tube(s) had/have failed. When replacing didn't fix the problem, we decided the ballast had gone bad. The Radiant ballast reviewed here was created when I dialed in the model number of an existing ballast, so I bought it. It's not an exact replacement (different screw hole locations etc) but I was able to adjust it…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn
