Designed to apply a ground to an automotive style relay (on pin 85) to turn the radiator cooling fan on and off automatically based on cylinder head temperature. Threads into the stock coolant temperature sensor port on either side of a LSX cylinder head. Thermostatic switch turns on at 205 degrees and off at 190 degrees. Thread size and pitch is M12 x 1. 5mm.

Not So Hot: Useless Thermostat

As a result of using this product, I found that it provided no noticeable improvements in engine cooling. The installation process was difficult, and I had to take it to a mechanic. On the positive side, the materials used were durable. However, the lack of performance made it not worth the investment.

Too expensive! best replacement parts

There are no alternative (lower) temperature ranges and other online reviews claim that it can easily break during installation. It must also be grounded externally. But the main reason for this ONE STAR rating is that this thermostat controlled switch is way too expensive for what it is and what it does. The only possible justification for such a high price would be a <0.1% lab-grade tolerance on the temperature set points, but this isn't even stated by the manufacturer.

Poor quality and customer service

Purchased Thermostatic Switch 30113 Painless Performance from Revain Painless. Broke within 2 weeks of use. Checked for errors with a digital VOM. The resistance was on or off across the full scale. Never closed or opened. Hence the reason why the fan turned off and on whenever it wanted to. When the switch was cold. it was not endless resistance. unlike what I tested after taking it out of the box. It had infinite resistance when cold and NO resistance when hot. I used to hook up completeโ€ฆ
