The Lumix GX9 is an amazing camera and I've had many cameras over the years but this one is just a pleasure. First, it's smaller than its predecessor, the GX8, which fits nicely in my hands, so the extra grip for the GX9 came in really handy.
Arrived on time and fits my Panasonic gx-85 perfectly. Gives you a better camera feel. It no longer feels like the camera is slipping out of your hand. Maybe a bit more expensive, maybe 49.99, but it's still worth it to be able to hold the camera better.
Huge difference in the usability of my gx85. It is very comfortable to hold and greatly increases the stability of the camera with large lenses. You'll have to remove it to access the battery, which is common with the gx85, but it's quick and easy to attach and detach. The handle is light but very well built.
This grip fits my GX85 well and makes it easier to hold longer, heavier lenses. However, it's ridiculously overpriced for what it is. it's just a piece of plastic. The fact that the design requires you to remove the grip to change memory cards or batteries is just bad design. IT does its job, but at high cost, and could do the job better.
I really needed this for my GX85 as my thumb had nowhere to rest (keep pressing the keys by mistake because my hands are too big). like almost everything Panasonic does. My issues with it are that it doesn't fit snugly next to the top right front of the GX85 (it seems a few millimeters shorter) and you have to remove it to access your SD card and battery. You could design this handle with a cutout for the small battery/SD card door. Also, the wheel you use to screw it to the camera body isβ¦
Fitted my gx9 quickly and fitted well. This obviously gives you more to hold on to, but it changed the way your fingers grip. Instead of curling down with no additional grip, your fingers curl towards the camera body. I have long fingers and that didn't work either. I was surprised. Without a grip, you can also hold the camera down with straight fingers. You can't do that with a handle.

When I found out that this item also fits my GX85 I tried to get it but it took a long time to order. To me, that's exactly what the GX85 needs to be comfortable to hold the camera in my hand. I've always felt like my fingers are in an awkward position holding it without this grip, and after a while they'll frantically follow my kids with a camera. Sure, it won't suddenly make your GX85/GX9 feel like a big DSLR, but it's a huge improvement. The reason I took off one star out of five is becauseβ¦
