Compared to LS-82.

The LS-82 battery lasts longer than the LS-850 battery. Compared to the LS-82 model, this model comes with a carrying case and a CGR-LH711 battery. The battery on this model is a 2250mAh battery, while the battery that comes with the LS-82 model is a 4500mAh CGR-LH712 battery. If you want a good deal and a carrying case, then the LS-850 is for you. However, the buyer should pay attention to the difference in battery capacity between this model and the LS-82.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Nothing here

More than a year and still.

We've had this player for over a year now and it still works great. We've used it on about 10 different trips out of town and occasionally to watch movies in the kids room. One note: Panasonic QA kind of took a hiatus from the player's AV out port as it appears to be dead, but it's just misconfigured. If you have a cable that lets you play a movie on a big TV, you'll need to switch the right audio RCA to video or yellow RCA, as Panasonic replaced them and a year later still haven't fixed the…

Pros
  • Best in its niche

  • A little wrinkled

HORRIBLE picture quality and mediocre design

I bought this player as a replacement for clumsily killing my 9 inch Toshiba SD-P1900 player. d still be in the game, right? Panasonic is a great brand, isn't it? NOT RIGHT. Not only does this particular Panasonic model have lousy picture quality and no remote control, but it also doesn't have any fast-forward or rewind functions other than skipping all the way forward or going all the way back to the beginning of the scenes. I'm a movie buff, so I like being able to go back two or three…

Ideally portable (but no remote)

Totally agree with the previous reviewer. This thing is solid, well designed, does its job well, unlike some others I've tried that look like an awkwardly scaled down version of a much larger player with randomly assigned buttons just to be small. The volume is sufficient, the controls are clear and convenient. The screen, in particular, has high contrast and rich colors, one big plus after another. 2 small disadvantages: a. There is no remote control. REMOTE CONTROL can be VERY USEFUL when…

  • Built-in stereo speaker - LCD mode

HORRIBLE picture quality and mediocre design

I bought this player as a replacement because I lost my 9" Toshiba SD Clumsily destroyed Player P1900. I figured that even with a half inch reduction in screen size, I'd still be in the game, right? Not only does this particular Panasonic model have lousy picture quality and no remote control, it also doesn't have any fast forward or rewind functions other than skipping forward or back to the beginning of scenes. Great Lightweight winner!

I recently switched to portable DVD players to make my 1-hour+ one-way train ride a little more comfortable to design . I started with a lot of research and settled on an 8.5 inch player from Philips - 6 hours of battery life and a screen that beats the competition (mostly from Sony). I ordered online after reading the specs on multiple websites. , and make sure it looks perfect. The product has arrived - and guess what I missed in weeks of research - the battery weighs an additional 1.5 pounds

Pros
  • Multi-format playback: DVD-Video, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-R
Cons
  • A bit shabby
