We've had this player for over a year now and it still works great. We've used it on about 10 different trips out of town and occasionally to watch movies in the kids room. One note: Panasonic QA kind of took a hiatus from the player's AV out port as it appears to be dead, but it's just misconfigured. If you have a cable that lets you play a movie on a big TV, you'll need to switch the right audio RCA to video or yellow RCA, as Panasonic replaced them and a year later still haven't fixed the problem. Let's talk oversight. Generally, if you want to pay for DVD output on another TV, switch the right audio (red) RCA to video (yellow) input on your TV and it will work fine. The sound is quite loud and the picture is ok for the price you pay and most importantly it is very durable.
