I've heard of Stephen Harris' extensive testing of these batteries and heard many of his backup power videos and this is the only brand he personally recommends after testing how long he can charge these enloop batteries. I bought the set on Black Friday for about 35% off but it's worth the full price, every penny. I have already bought Eneloop batteries because I heard a lot of good reviews about them from my friends, so I decided to try them and they were great. I originally used my old Duracell charger with them, although the instructions said not to use a charger without a battery it still worked. I don't know how that affected the batteries. Anyway they were great and I needed more batteries for my growing family of gamers and electronic toys and I like being eco-friendly so I looked for the best…

I just received this item and here are my first impressions. Assuming the batteries do a good job and last a long time, I wouldn't regret the $55 cost (tax included). I have a couple of old Eneloop batteries that don't hold a charge as long as I think they should, although it's possible that the original 3rd party charger I bought with these Eneloops doesn't work and POSSIBLY Eneloop is longer obsolete. . This is partly why I decided to buy a new kit that includes an OEM charger. Time will tell
