Easy wiring but installation was a bit tricky

Easy wiring but installation was a little tricky as the plastic base was a bit thicker than the original metal base and it flared a bit around the edges. It did NOT slide in and out like it should. It took some strength and I hope I never have to remove it as it may not be possible. The whole drawing was correct! I will definitely buy it again.

    I have two failed

My original power converter failed after 3 years. When removing, one of the capacitors is unscrewed and rolled around the board. Replaced with the same model from the same company. The second failed without warning a year later. Nothing was obvious when I removed the second one. I replaced it with another model from Progressive Dynamics as I also switched to a lithium battery pack.

I just spoke to Parallax Technical Support

I just spoke to Bruce at Parallax, he has been there for over 15 years and knows all about this converter. He specifically said that RVsupplies won't tell you where to get the converters from, but it's NOT direct from Parallax. I ordered one here from Revain/RVsupplies and a piece broke off in transit. I will not order another. Instead I ordered a WFCO 8955 which is a direct bolt to bolt replacement and there is a great video on YouTube replacing that block with this one.

    Don't buy from Revain

Don't order this! I ordered this converter, installed it and reinstalled it the next time I was in my trailer only to find out it didn't work. I ended up having my trailer towed to an RV shop and the tech confirmed it was NOT working. I ended up buying a new transducer from the store but when I tried to return the Revain transducer I found that the return period had already expired and I was stuck with an expensive piece of junk! Had I known the return policy was so restrictive I would not have

Replacement converter assembly for Parallax 7155 panel.

Installation 15 minutes. I used this converter to fix a non-charging Parallax 7155 switchboard. Disconnect the negative cables from the bus and chassis batteries. Disconnect shore power and ensure the generator is off. I completely replaced the 7155 panel about 4 years ago. It's a little concerning that the converter has already failed, but troubleshooting and installing a replacement converter tray is easy. You will need Torx socket wrenches, a #2 Phillips screwdriver, various flathead…

Do not buy!: Tools and equipment

Completely unimpressed. Looked on the internet and many reviews. Everything indicated that this converter should replace the original in my van. I took it here, wanted to paste it, but they don't match. The old converter has three power wires (positive converter, positive battery and negative battery). The new one has only two (positive converter, negative battery). I had to make a jumper to connect the positive battery. Excellent. I can handle it. Go through the process to connect it and…

Two units died in 8 years

Bought a new camper in May 2011. In the 5th season, problems with the shutdown of the converter began. Resetting the device by turning off the power normally worked, but by the end of the summer it was dead. Bought new from Revain in May 2016, worked perfectly. Identical to the original, no modification, plug and play. Worked great for 2.5 seasons or 27 months, then started stalling again. By the end of the summer he was dead and camping with a charger plugged into the RV. So now I have two…

The best price for a replacement converter for our camper.

The 12 volt systems in our 2008 camper first started playing, and then it started affecting the fridge. After speaking to other motorhome owners they all agreed that the converter system needed to be changed so we started looking for Revain that had the best price and ordered it. We took a photo of our current converter before we removed it and reconnected any wires that needed to be removed. With the help of our photos and YouTube tutorial videos, we installed the new converter without any…
