Update: I've tried sharpening and using this razor again but it's bent, the blade is warped and I can't use it at all. The razor feels solid. It is made of high quality steel. I didn't pay attention to the design of the handle when I bought it, I personally don't like the design. Looks crappy (Grim Reaper graphics). The blade is not sharp enough when delivered. The strap is full of junk, too narrow and short and made of cheap materials. The razor wasn't sharp enough to shave, it was warped and it didn't sit right on the scale. It's a difficult pass in this set.

So all in all a good deal. He is NOT ready to shave. Get a grindstone 3000/8000. Sharpen 50-75 times on each side. Should be ready to go. The steel is heat treated so honing goes well. Its worth it.
