Best DSLR camera

Best camera. I switched from a Ricoh Kr-5 Super to a Pentax K-1000. I like this camera because it allows me to shoot with all my old full manual lenses and shoot almost the same as I used to with my manual cameras. I set my manual lenses to U1 mode and that's it. I didn't use the Auto or Scene modes, but the in-camera editing and fully customizable filters are indeed much better than I expected. I just love this camera. .GO! In my opinion, Pentax succeeded with this camera. I am the current owner of Kx and this camera has served me very well over the past few years. I wanted to upgrade to a newer/better version of Pentax. This camera takes everything that was in the Kx and extends what made this camera great into what I think is an amazing camera. Great camera for the advanced photographer.

I've had Pentax DSLRs and SLRs for 40 years. The K-5 and K-30 can stand alongside their respective 35mm cameras. These are great cameras. I bought a K-30 a few months ago and used it for portraits. It has way more features than I need as I only need a manual camera. This is an advanced camera for advanced users. Reliable, versatile camera with great value for money, perfect for my first DSLR
