I received 2 damaged filters.

Tried this product twice. 1st was not straight and was not flat. Revain sent me a replacement which also turned out to be faulty. When I placed the filter in its housing, the creases came out immediately. The wrinkles came off immediately and we had to buy another filter.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • There are shortcomings

Fold. but it shouldn't

We have water problems and need to use filters. I usually buy mine at the store but they are sold out. So they looked the same, even at a similar price point. What a disappointment. Three weeks and we had no water pressure. I bought a new one from the store and when my husband changed it the whole filter collapsed.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Installed and working for over 6 months. The pressure drop is very low. Catches large sand and rust particles well. Since there is no depth filtration, smaller particles are not trapped or passed through. Overall, excellently suited for use as the primary stage of a multi-stage filter system.

Pros
  • Useful beyond its intended purpose
Cons
  • Updates

Inexpensive whole house filter

Inexpensive basic whole house filter that lasts about a month in southern Indiana before replacing. Does what it says on the tin and does an excellent job of removing sediment and minerals. I particularly like that these are not a polypropylene wound filter as in my experience they will disintegrate over time and the particles will be washed downstream into your house. I would recommend it to others!

Pros
  • Large area
Cons
  • Medium

Excellent filtration for dug or drilled wells

This does a great job of filtering solids out of my dug well. I use a 5 micron filter in front to get the larger particles, then two 1 micron filters in parallel to remove the smaller particles without restricting flow too much. I only have to change them 2-3 times a year and the water level in my well fluctuates wildly year round, stirring up the dirt. My water tastes good.

  • kitchen and bathroom appliances

Very average cheap filter

This is a simple pleated paper cartridge that performs very well - a particle size of five microns means it removes most (but not all) impurities and minerals from water. However, we have fairly high water pressure and this seemed to distort the filter and reduce its effectiveness fairly quickly. I replaced it with a more expensive filter that uses both charcoal and paper and is surrounded by a metal mesh. It seems to be holding its shape better. My guess is that unless you have a major or…
