🐾 Optimal Pet Door with Adjustable Telescopic Frame Review

I have a little dog who is so happy since I installed this door. I'm not very handy, but this door was pretty easy to install. This saved me a lot of money as I don't have to hold the door open to let the air conditioner out.

My old pet door was ripped open = a large dog going through the middle door broke the old plastic. It wasn't her door, but you know dogs. Anyway, I guessed right and it fit perfectly. The hardest part was getting the screws into the holes, which took me ten minutes and a Phillips screwdriver.

We haven't installed it yet but this is a BIG size for three cats weighing 15 to 7 pounds. It looks pretty sketchy and has the flap movement we were looking for. I've read horror stories about hard plastic flaps closing on the tails and legs! The litter box is in the basement and a new door is being installed. We'll install that as soon as the basement door is up. Thank you!

I installed the pet door with no problem but the only downside to this product is the holes that the screws go in which are not pre-drilled became. It became difficult to twist the front and back together. I disassembled the pieces to pre-drill and insert the screws into the holes without damaging the plastic. I didn't want to over tighten the screws as the instructions warned against it. I almost couldn't tighten them like the screws were too big.

Installation was pretty easy. It's easy to follow the pattern once it's on the saw. To keep the level, measure from the bottom of the door using an adjustable square and make some marks with a pencil. Perfect size for medium sized cats. As mentioned, the hole is slightly larger than necessary, so remember to keep the door straight when you GENTLY tighten the screws. They are self-tapping and transition into plastic. Perfect for our needs. We have 4 shih tzus, a pug, and 3 cats (yes, that's 8 pets!) that we wanted to be able to get in and out of the laundry room without leaving the door open the entire time. It took the dogs a few days to learn how to use the door, but they all got the hang of it quickly. The cats noticed immediately.
