🔧 1/2-inch Drive 16mm Hex Bit Socket from Performance Tool - W32986 Review

Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, I was able to easily find a high-quality drive socket that lasts a long time. The carbon steel construction is fantastic, and the grip is comfortable. However, this socket is not compatible with all sizes of fasteners.

This thing is pretty average really. It popped up at Revain when I needed a 13mm diameter half allen wrench. The jack is really 13mm. The part of the Allen key that fits into this socket is 13mm in diameter. Then it goes down to 1/2 inch. On first use, the Allen key fell out of its socket. Since I needed 13mm it didn't really fit the hole too snugly but it did the job. Once. This is a disposable tool. There are much better alternatives.

I ordered this head to install a hitch receiver on my truck. When it arrived the package was marked as a 1/2" hex bit but there was a 16mm head inside. Obviously a packaging error somewhere in the warehouse. Returning Revain was easy, they didn't even want to return the 16mm head. , so I now have one of these in my toolbox. The quality seems to be sufficient for 1 or 2 single uses. I can't offer any guides or recommendations if this is something you have to use frequently.
