Goodbye makeup wipes!

First of all I love that this product is made in Ireland! I'm British and I have an Irish spirit in me, so I'm happy to support an Irish skincare line. What's more, it's AMAZING! Don't let the price put you off, it's way better than those pesky face towels! Plus, it's a lot more eco-friendly! I simply massaged my face with a small spoon and then wiped it off with a damp cloth. Afterwards my skin was really soft and clear as opposed to using (wasted) 2 facial tissues and still didn't feel like…

  • A sea of positive emotions

Great makeup remover!!!

Pestle & Mortar is a brand from Ireland. Love how simple and clear the packaging looks, simple black and white design! I received the product opened and found that the aluminum paper was opened, there was some leakage, but it can be used! This is truly a divine luxury cleanser that's like a mini facial. It's a sheer, slippery balm texture, but not very greasy on the skin, so don't be shy if you hate oils on your skin. It literally melts into your skin as you massage it in and removes all…

Mixed feelings about it.

This is not quite what I expected. It is listed as a makeup remover and cleansing balm. It has a light scent and removes make-up, so it lives up to its claim. It is easy to use and feels comfortable. What I didn't really like was the amount of oil it left on my skin even after I wiped it off. It turns into a liquid with body heat and really lubricates your face. This reminds me of products from a few years ago that were cleansing oils. I think these products work for some people, but it was…

Hard and oily - makeup

For the first wash I always choose a balm, not an oil. My favorites are the classic OG K-Beauty, Heimish All Clean, and Banila Co Clean it Zero, but I love trying new ones when I get the chance. Pestle & Mortar Erase is more of a solid cleansing oil than a balm. It is very oily in the glass and turns into an oily liquid when touched with fingertips. In terms of effectiveness, it reliably removes all my makeup, including waterproof mascara. But still, there are a few things I find less…

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • I have no particular dislikes for it, everything is fine

Not my favorite balm but pretty good

Pestle & Mortar is an Irish company co-founded by Sonia Deasy whose skills in this area seem more than vague as she describes herself. The origin story is that her husband who she assisted was a portrait photographer so she has seen many skin types up close, also she is of indian descent so she knows more about the connection between mind and body? I mean, this all seemed like, at best, a reason why everyone should trust their skin to their products. Despite this, the skincare line seems to be…

Removes all traces of makeup

I've never used makeup remover so I was skeptical. However, this product really works! I'm not sure if the texture should be creamier or grainier. I did a little research and some of the photos made the balm look creamier, but mine was a bit gritty and cut up. I fixed this by stirring the product a bit until I sorted out the lumps and blended the oils together. This product feels very nourishing and luxurious on the skin. I liked the process of cleansing my face with this balm. I felt like it…
