SELECTIVE ENTRY: Uses RFID to read your cat's microchip, allowing your cat access without letting in stray animals-learns up to 40 identities. MICROCHIP COMPATIBILITY: Works with 15-digit microchip numbers; if unsure of your pet's microchip number, you can ask your veterinarian or local animal rescue. VERSATILE INSTALLATION: Out of the box installation into wood, PVC and uPVC; metal, glass, brick and wall installation will require additional accessories (sold separately). ENERGY EFFICIENT: Weather stripping and two magnetic locking points increase insulation and help keep out drafts. MANUAL LOCK: The 4-way manual lock allows you to control access of your programmed cats; set the lock to 'In or Out', 'In Only', 'Out Only' or 'Fully Locked'.

The instructions say nothing about installing on vinyl siding.

We love the product as it does what it's supposed to. The customization was a little tricky as we didn't know how to integrate the exterior trim (see image). Also, our wall is made of 2x6 studs, so it needed 3 tunnel extensions, then the long studs weren't enough, so we had to adapt them to that. However, we all like access. It's been installed for almost 2 weeks and our kitty uses it to get in from outside but doesn't like using it to get out. She doesn't like the click when she unlocks, so we
