This is a terrible product. Very expensive and doesn't slide well, difficult to use and slippery. I do not recommend. I bought it because it seemed to me a good brand and had a good design.

I wanted the salt shaker/grinder to be left on the table (to stop the walk back to the cupboard) and it's perfect for that. That looks great! But the salt grinding mechanism is difficult to operate; The little knob at the top of the grinder seems to only have one setting, coarse, and it keeps sliding down to keep out of salt.

This is not a salt shaker. There is a thin piece of metal with grooves that allow whole chunks of salt to fall out of the ground. This "mechanism" replaces the meat grinder. If I hadn't looked into something else, this "whatever" would have gone back to the seller. In this form it is sent to the garbage stream, my fault.

I bought this grinder after seeing the same Peugeot salt and pepper grinders in action at a local restaurant. Grinds well, but only up to half of the salt container. Anything less than half and it jerks and gives me a lot of trouble turning the grinder. Adjusting the fineness knob does not affect the difficulty of grinding. We avoid it for this reason, and I still use the sea salt it came with. I still have hope that maybe other salt is smaller or easier to grind. I will update in a year. I…
