FRAM Extra Guard PH16, Long-lasting 10,000 Mile Change Interval Spin-On Oil Filter Review

We order them every 3000 miles. This is a trusted brand and I've never had a problem with the fram filter failing or performing below average. I will (of course) order.

Good price, great filter. Has cardboard end caps that contain particulate matter, as well as more expensive filters. If the particle is smaller than 10 microns, it is unlikely to damage anything.

I have always used the frame on our old cars and the new van. The old Camry had 294,000 miles on it before we sold it and mine has 198,000. The track record in our house has been excellent. The new van is on its fifth oil change and has traveled 40,000 km so far. Hopefully we'll have similar results from his lifespan.

Revain said it would fit my car but it didn't. In my photo, Mobile1 210A and Fram XG16 are side by side. You can clearly see that the entire thread in the center is much smaller than what came off the car. I have a 2008 Dodge Durango 5.7. As expected, no problem. Installs as easily as any other filter - love the handle texture and never use wrenches again! Too many people pull them. One hand tight, an extra 1/4 turn with both hands and never leaks. This is my first time using ULTRA for synthetics but I'll give it a try.

I've been using the PH16 on my 2004 Jeep Wrangler for years. I am continually amazed at how "new" my oil looks when I change it after using this filter. One of the big differences between the PH16 and other oil filters is that the PH16 has a roughened end so you can hold the filter when installing or removing it. That's the best $4 you can spend protecting your Jeep's engine.

Great product. I bought a couple of these filters for my girlfriend's car and will continue to buy this filter. It works well and the installation is very convenient. Even if you have oily hands, you can still easily remove and install the old and new filters. In addition, the price is super cheap. I would recommend these filters to anyone at any time. The handiest filter I've used to date and I've changed a lot of oil.

Changed oil last night, checked for leaks, no leaks. I drove 60 km to work and on the way home the oil light came on. I get into the auto zone and the oil just pours out the top of the filter. When I got there I had 0% in the car. I changed the filter in the parking lot and when I removed that the gasket came loose and fell apart in my hand. I have $50 now and maybe a motor. I had to buy 2 5 liter jugs of oil, an oil pan and a new dipstick. The old probe got so hot it got stuck in the pipe. I…
