Once you get used to it, check the lightbulbs first.

Received June 1st, 2021 I bought a color starter kit - used it because I don't need to get it perfect right away. I finally got everything set up and organized only to find out that lightbulbs can't work with color. I was confused at first because I didn't see any color options. I thought it might be a software thing I haven't been able to find yet. Then it dawned on me, just as I was about to throw myself into bed, that these bulbs just can't produce color. Moral: Check your lightbulbs when…

Some adjustments needed, but worth it

I had to press a bunch of "I agree, let's continue" buttons and use x,y,z to adjust. It was easy, a little monotonous. I then spent about 20-30 minutes tweaking the settings, setting up Siri and Alexa, and arranging the lights. I really like the button and would have preferred if they included two buttons instead of one so I could use both. one smaller and one larger magnetic mount plus one next to my bed and one on my computer desk or next to my regular light switch. Anyway I think it works…

  • Great overall performance

It's like giving your first pack of cigarettes a rating of

Family, full of lights, stopped would work properly. The functionality is amazing though - the integration with our Google Home is great and I use it all the time (when my hands are full). Where the Hue system really shines is when you sync it to your TV. During the pandemic, a personal "cinema" goes a long way to keeping you happy when you're locked in all the time, and the Hue system is a valuable addition for me. My only concern is how CRAZY expensive they are. They just aren't $50 a bulb…

Poor documentation but good results in the end

I bought this set for my daughter for Christmas. Bulbs are installed quickly and easily. The bridge is another matter. The documentation says "connect to a wireless router". You don't have to do this explicitly. You just have to connect this thing to the network somehow. Switch, ethernet cable, whatever. I would have figured it out quickly if it wasn't for the next point. No applications connected to the bridge even though it was powered on and connected to the network. Finally, I factory reset

They work but not LIFX Quailty.

*update* after longer use, the colors are now ok, even more washed out, but red and green are brighter, blue is not as strong, magenta and punk are also weaker. I love the button, even with voice control. If I need to turn on the light in the middle of the night and don't want to disturb my girlfriend, I'll turn it on with one click and dim up to 10% progress from there. I fixed it next to the bed for easy access. It's magnetic. So if you have things you can use like a metal safe, table legs or

Not enough functionality for the price

Given the Hue Bridge's high cost, I expected to be able to program my lights. Ironically, with a cheap LED strip with built-in WiFi and a simple app, I have more control than Philips Hue. I wanted to set up the light with RGB; Philips offers a color wheel. I wanted to be able to turn on sections of light for specific colors with simple commands or timers; Philips likes to hide your specially programmed "scenes" in favor of their pre-programmed default settings. You cannot configure a command to
