Works as described - Single board computer

I use them for my OctoPi setup to monitor my 3D prints. I am using Raspberry Pi 3b. The camera works perfectly and is easy to add.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Many things

Works with raspberry pi 2 octoprint setup

Works great with my raspberry pie 2. Get a decent image for my needs. Don't get 4K pictures or video, but don't expect that from a budget camera. Works great as expected.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Has cons

Great for OctoPi: Computers and Accessories

Great for Octopi. I had to remember to go into the PiOs themselves to turn on the camera and make sure it was plugged into the correct port on the Pi (there are two places it can fit, I picked the wrong one at first).

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Legacy

Good cheap cameras

These cameras worked great with my Raspberry Pi with little to no additional setup. Image quality is decent and it can reliably record at 1080p30 without any issues. Keep in mind that some components are quite close to the mounting holes, so make sure your screws don't get in the way. They should normally take M2 screws. There is also an adhesive pad on the back of the camera sensor that you need to peel and stick on yourself to keep the lens/sensor assembly from hanging on the ribbon cable…

Extremely simple and decent image quality

I've had a few Raspberry Pis before but never pulled the trigger on the camera module as I didn't really need it. Now I'm running 2 instances of Octoprint and it's nice to be able to remotely track prints individually. The cameras and cable were well packaged and gave the impression of high quality workmanship (like every single component) and were very easy to use. Plug it in (in the correct slot and orientation of course) and then toggle the setting in the Raspberry Pi settings to turn on the

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Simple idea. Crazy Scripting

Scripting the camera isn't that much fun because changing other things makes other things not work. The big problem is network security.

  • Crossing my fingers

Works Well with Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 Series

Bought 2nd to connect to my Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 series and use with Octoprint for my 3D printers. Both cameras came with a 6 inch cable that plugged into the Pi and worked straight away. If you want the camera to stick more firmly to the circuit board, the camera has a peel and stick backing. The camera has a protective film on the lens that needs to be removed. Fixed focus, but can it be adjusted? I also bought longer connector ribbon cables from Amazon to allow the camera to be mounted…
