Amazing pen! About Pens & Leads

This pen is superior to traditional calligraphy pens because it allows you to mix colors easily. I also like how I can make thin lines with the corner. My pen came with black and red ink cartridges (not the blue ones I was expecting) which were fine, but I recommend refilling used cartridges with a different brand of ink when you're done with them, as the ink that comes with it tends to to bleed out something . The versatility of the pen makes it great for calligraphy and drawing, and I've even

Great pen! suitable for calligraphy pens

I'm relatively new to calligraphy; I did some stuff in art school, but most of my work has been in digital media for the past 15 years. I've been very nostalgic for handlettering lately, and after reading a few reviews and watching YouTube clips, I decided to give Pilot Parallel a try. I chose 1.5mm as it seemed less intimidating to me as I am new to calligraphy. Loading ink was a breeze, and while I haven't had to reload it yet, I don't foresee any problems. The pen work is amazing, the ink…

Opens up a whole new creative world.

I originally bought a 1.5-point parallel pen to use for handwriting. When trying it out, I quickly realized that I wanted to use it for drawing. The ink flowed so smoothly that I was able to rotate the pen slightly as I drew the line. Then I decided to try this pen's special ability, the color gradation of the ink, which requires two pens, so I bought another 2.8 parallel pen, which made it even more fun. This has led to the fact that I now have five of these fun pens that cover all pen sizes…

Pros
  • Pilot Parallel Calligraphy Pen: Pilot's innovative 2-blade parallel pen design lets you create sharp mono lines with a narrow edge and expressive calligraphy with a wide edge.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Unconventional calligraphy

My experience with calligraphy pens varies from some mid-range kits (eg Scheaffer) and pen and style. I'm by no means a typographer and have only had one acquaintance at the enthusiast level since my art school days. I learned pen calligraphy and well-styled nibs, which are often made from a single piece of metal with a "breathing hole” in the center and two separate prongs. Larger nibs may have another piece of metal above (or sometimes below) the split section to regulate flow and hold more…
