Wow! A block of wood, some wheels and some nails. I couldn't believe how complicated this was getting. I built six cars and each had a problem, some had the same problem. axle nails; They are curled and don't go through the wheel hub very well. The wood is not dry enough. After drying, the blocks were slightly shorter than a typical pine derby car. Surprisingly, the blocks did not warp, twist or deform during drying. The axes are larger than the Scout Cub's axes. The wheels are not as wide and have a larger diameter than Scout wheels. These wheels also don't stay straight on their axles, so they wobble when turning. If you want a slow car and a frustrated kid, this is for you.
