🚗 Planet Audio PL1500.1M Monoblock Car Amplifier - 1500W, 2/4 Ohm Stable, Class A/B, Mosfet Power Supply Review

Great monoblock amplifier with kicker subwoofer. The easy installation, compact size and performance was a great addition to the already great 4 channel Planet audio amp on my boat. This allows me to combine a subwoofer either in the front (inside) or in the back (tower) or both. Very happy.

This amp lasts about 2 songs, after which it shuts down/goes into protection mode. I hardly have a 10 inch subwoofer push. I don't turn it to the extreme, just enough to hear the bass coming from the back of my SUV, but after about 7-10 minutes it stops working. There is a signal to the block, but there is no exit. Don't waste money in vain. Pay extra and get something better.

If it was dynoed it put out a total of 106 watts RMS. Do math. Nothing close to advertised. I am legally turning it into a door speaker amp for some 6.5s. I mean my solo barik sounds good but it doesn't sound like it should. High tech tuned ported case for the L712 and I keep wondering why it doesn't hit the way I'm used to. And I had almost 10 different settings. I'm anything but new to this. This is only good for component speakers or regular low-end subwoofers. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT

Best amp you can buy for $55. I use it to drive an 8 inch subwoofer in my golf cart and to be honest it's way too much power for that. Maybe one day I'll use it for some subwoofers in my truck instead. For anyone complaining about this thing, they probably aren't plugging it in properly or not adjusting all the settings. I bought this product blind thinking it would put out at least 300 watts into 2 ohms. Unfortunately, I was wrong and I feel completely deceived by the manufacturer. I knew the RMS power ratings would be lower as this amp is way too high for its RMS and peak ratings. I paid about 0.30 cents per watt for this amp. First I got a used amp instead of a new one, I can tell this one was missing half the parts and was covered in scratches. Second, this amp gets too hot to touch and shuts down after 2-3 songs. I push two 10s with 750W each 2 ohms and it bubbles. My cheap Walmart dual amp didn't get nearly as hot and never shut down. so i think i'll get my dual amp back because the sound of the planet can't keep up. I received the amp earlier than expected and it's great! It's been a while since I've had the system in my car so I was very excited. I've only had it in my car for a day and it's worked great! Pushed 2 12s good for me. There are only cheap Xplodes out there but they are really good for what they are and how cheap this amp was! Decent budget amp, period. Obviously overloaded given its physical size and only a 30 amp fuse. Negative reviews criticizing it for not delivering the advertised 1500W output can be avoided with a basic understanding of amplifiers. A good rule of thumb is that the more fuses built into an amplifier and the higher their amperage, the greater the output current of the amplifier. I accidentally broke my Planet Audio AC1500 1M mono amp, it was my wiring mistake. I don't blame the amp or Planet Audio. BUT I'm glad I did, although the AC1500 was good I currently need to hook up the high inputs to my 2014 Jeep Wrangler's amp. Head units on Jeeps are notoriously anemic and because of this, even if you increase the gain, you won't push anything but mud.
