Difficult to use with MacBook Pro VERY SLOW

If you have a MacBook Pro with only two USB-C ports, the size of that port will block the other port. the kind of drive I've ever had. I have it about 1/2 full of videos and it can take up to 10 minutes for a video to load. This is completely ridiculous and makes it almost useless.

Almost perfect: data storage

About a quarter size, it was very comfortable and if the plug was about β…œ inch longer I would give this product five stars. Unfortunately most of us have protective cases on our phones which makes using this product less convenient as we have to remove the case to connect it. If the plug were longer, we wouldn't have to remove the case.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Failed in less than a month

The 512GB version of this flash drive failed after less than a month of use. More specifically, one day my Dell XPS 17 laptop running Windows 10 Pro with this flash drive plugged into one of the USB-C ports hung on both reboot and hard reboot. After I removed the flash drive I was able to reboot but Windows started complaining about corrupted files which took a while to repair with Dell support tools. After the laptop was restored to a stable and normal state, I reconnected the flash drive, but

Worth having for Android phone

Got a new phone that didn't have an extra memory slot and was disappointed with the new phone's memory. I found a nice little easy to use phone memory insert for taking photos and storing files that I sometimes need but don't need on my phone. It works great and haven't had any file loss issues so far. I would recommend to anyone who needs more storage space with a pocket drive. Great replacement if you don't have a micro SD card. It can also be hung on a keychain.

PNY Elite 3.1 Type C Drive 256 GB

A good hard drive for the price. Thanks to the large capacity, you can store a lot of data. I've read reviews from other well-known brands of drives that say the drives get very hot when writing data. I chose this product because there are no negative reviews about it. In my experience, all discs are hot to the touch as they generate heat. When writing large amounts of data to this drive, it heats up, but not by much since other drives have been tested. I'm a Linux user and found that the drive

Uh, not really. on computers and accessories

So I have 256GB and 64GB of this drive. I dig the form factor. The mechanism that closes the USB-C connector is cool, works well, is nimble. That's the problem. I have a mid 2018 15" Macbook Pro with Big Sur and recently encrypted my 256GB drive with APFS (which for me is only recommended for Mac flash drives). When I say it's slow. IT GOT SLOW! I actually decided to run some Blackmagic tests to see if the format or the encoding made a difference and here are my results. MSDOS (FAT): Read 95…
