Deceptive ads, slow as molasses, useless for videos.

I bought this stick for a simple unobtrusive video server application. The slim profile was a selling point. I knew this would cause problems when the Android platform took 4 hours to format and a speed warning came up. Needless to say, things weren't going well. I ran a speed test and found that while I was able to get stable read speeds in excess of 120MB/s, write speeds could freeze entirely at 0MB/s for a few seconds, with occasional intermittent spikes of up to 70MB/s. , barely reaches an…

Great trick for computers and accessories

Let's face it, the form factor for this amount of storage is incredible. Sits tight and hardly sticks out. There are no problems with heating either. That said, it should be pretty obvious to even the most tech-savvy of us that given the form factor, it's hardly possible to deliver what's promised on the box (I can't exaggerate, this thing is tiny). Accordingly, copying over a few small files works well and with good speed. The writing speed drops sharply from a file size of 500 MB (<2.5…

All lost, very sad.

Well I ordered a few months ago. Everything worked on my Mac. I only saved short family video clips on it. It wasn't the fastest, but good enough for what I needed. HOWEVER I plugged it in today and it is "Toast". It renamed itself to a weird icon name and all my files GONE. I've spent a lot of time researching these things and this one looked the best. Most importantly, all my files are LOST after just a few months. Of course I haven't backed it up yet as my large external hard drive hasn't…

Defect. Not the brand I recommend. Many of their products require full testing upon receipt. (Max upload large files or duplicate a large file) I bought this last June but only now almost a year later when I started filling it I see there is a problem. Once you store more than a few gigabytes, it just shuts down when copying files. Reformatting doesn't help either. So now I've paid a lot of money plus shipping from the US for a useless piece of crap. Which will not store more than a fraction of

Hard to find give me more

I listen to music in the car and these little sticks are the best, if any. One is country music, the other is rock, greatest hits, oldies, Christmas, etc. I have about 5,000 songs on one and it's only half full. I really don't want to tether my phone to music in the car. I'm looking for more of them to do other things.

WORKS AS RECOMMENDED

SMALL, FAST, COOL, RELIABLE, AVAILABLE! I first spent a week trying out the new SANDISK drive which burned my finger and fell out of the file tree every time it overheated. This drive stays cool and doesn't even get hot. I just transferred over 20 gigabytes of movie files to it and it doesn't get hot at all!

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Approx.

Really bad performance almost dying already

Bought two 64GB versions due to small size. I have a 64GB SanDisk USB 3.0 flash drive to boot Linux from a MacBook Air, but I wanted something smaller. and all i can say is that the performance on this drive is really bad, reads and writes seem to be intermittent. An old 2GB PNY USB 2.0 flash drive will work much better than this one. The ID of this device is 13fe:6300 which is defined as Kingston in case this info is useful. The SanDisk Ultra CZ48 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive (slower) running…

Pretty Good Drive - Computers and Accessories

PNY Elite X-Fit 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive The PNY device is advertised as having a read speed of 200MB/s. I'll be using it as a portable backup away from the office, so I'm interested in a write speed that isn't listed in any of the specs posted on Revain. I will only read from it if something goes wrong with my computer. Comparing PNY to my favorite Corsair Voyager Vega 128GB, PNY gets a backup of 28 files in 43 minutes with 84.4GB (90,660,076,242 bytes) of data already encrypted, while…

Smokin' Fast, FAT32 and it works great!

Product: PNY 256GB Elite-X Fit USB 3.0 Flash Drive (64G/256G) There are many old reviews complaining about speed, format and so on. I have no doubt these folks struggled for one reason or another, but I recently bought a 64GB drive and then a 256GB version and found them to meet the specs and for use with TVs and other pre-formatted common devices. Nice. The reading speed easily exceeds 200 MB/s and the writing speed is very good. The 256G device actually writes at over 100MB/s, making disc…
