🏆 Polaris Sportsman 450 570 SP X2 HD Winch Kit (2014-2020) - Genuine Polaris - 2,500 Lb. Capacity - 2880432 Review

The winch box itself (not the Amazon shipping box) was badly damaged and all taped up, it may have been returned. In any case, the product was decent and easy to install. Directions are hard to read, just look it up on YouTube. My Polaris was a size 13 so I had to buy a real cable from the handlebar switch to the winch.

Like others, the easy installation and factory thumb switch cost me extra money. The power and ground cables have no extra length, so make sure you route the cables to the side of the heatsink/fan, not the top. Otherwise they won't come. The rest of the installation was easy (I watched YouTube videos, didn't use paper instructions)

Installed this Polaris HD 2500 winch on my 2019 Polaris 570 Sportsman ATV. Installation is quick and easy if you follow the included installation instructions. This winch is expensive compared to other winches on the market, but it is truly plug and play which saved me a lot of time, effort and frustration. I look forward to using it and will provide a follow up in a few months.

Although the Polaris winch is a lot more expensive than some other brands, I chose the Polaris 2500 LB because of the advertised ease of installation. Installation was fairly easy with one exception - my quad has a factory front hitch and there is a support bracket which I had to remove and cut with an angle grinder to make room for the winch and top cables. It wasn't that bad - it would have been more of a hassle to install a different brand of winch on the quad.

Luckily I'm not an idiot. The instructions are very poorly written. Not only are they vague and contain spelling and grammatical errors, but they show a list of required tools that aren't the sizes I really need. Shows as a 20-minute installation - yes, no. Now that I've made one, I might be able to get closer, but it took an hour and a half - again, as I was trying to follow directions rather than common sense. Works great, good winds. Worth the money in my opinion due to the very easy installation. I have to say that the additional cost of this unit and other claims about the difficult installation made me suspicious. But I installed it in about 45 minutes (because I'm a bit older now and taking a break during projects :). but it could be done in 20 minutes if you would just get to the point. Installed on a 2019 Polaris 850 SP Sportsman. You need to take the magnet out of the box on the side it is on and install it in the center where the four holes in the center of the coil are. The instructions tell you that on the very last page for my model. It was a great purchase! I used to buy a cheaper brand winch to install on my ATV, but I quickly realized that installing the extra parts and oversized wiring would take more time and effort than a cheaper winch. The winch is excellent and reliable so far. I had a bit of a problem installing it due to some mix ups with the models over the years. I've read that XP and SP are essentially the same thing, while Polaris has only changed the name over time. It turns out this is not the case. The instructions state that if you have an SP, you must move the solenoid. Having a 2018 570XP I did this and installed as instructed.
