Too expensive for the price but with the Porsche logo on it and they know we Porsche owners will pay for it because maybe it's a little more compatible or safer for our cars. Not sure if this is the case, but the cigarette lighter works and is handy. Works well with my AGM battery and keeps the charge at the maximum level. Porsche charger is perfect for my needs. I have a car that requires the trunk to be opened and the panels removed to access the battery. Using the cigarette lighter as a charging plug avoids the cumbersome process. The Porsche charger is more expensive than other chargers. However, in my opinion the build quality/material with the clip-on rubber bumper cover and the ease of use make the difference. The Porsche Charge-o-mat is way better than other battery care devices I've bought in the past.

I bought this Porsche Charge-o-mat Pro battery charger and maintenance tool at the end of April 2020. This item never worked even after going through all the troubleshooting guides. I had no idea how important it is to keep the battery charged in my new Porsche. I watched one of Porsche's tech videos and realized that I have a lithium battery (what a big surprise) and you shouldn't use a regular lithium battery as very bad things can happen. Works as advertised, but if you leave it plugged in over the winter and your house or outlet loses power, note that it won't start charging automatically. Someone has to turn it off, turn on your car, and then connect the service device to start the charging and service function. I don't know how to solve this problem for 3-4 months of absence. I bought this for my Porsche 911 which doesn't drive very often. Interestingly, my 6 month premium battery was actually dead and not holding a charge, BUT what was odd was that this device still showed the battery as fully charged, which is definitely not the case. I love the rubber 'bumper bra' as I particularly enjoy banging things on paintwork and interiors. Put the end of the power cord on the bra first because the end of the adapter is lighter. Not much different than your girlfriend. Keep the box for safekeeping.
