I really wanted to like this radio but after using it for less than two weeks the channel switch button stopped working. I had to send it back for a refund.

It's a keeper! Best in Shortwave Radios

My elderly dad just opened this for Christmas. He was excited! Big buttons, great reception and the fact that it can run on batteries or from the wall outlet. The price is worth it!

Great radio! best in shortwave radios

This radio finally gives me good AM and FM reception in my hobby shed. I like that it's vintage (not digital) because I can set up the reception myself. The tone button is also a nice feature. And the radio is great too!

Great radio, the best in portable audio and video

Very impressive. I have Sony and Panasonic which are comparable. There is no name as good, if not better. The sound control is good, the reception excellent. During the day many channels could be heard. The selectivity was very good. Definitely a winner.

Better reception than other radio stations!

I took a risk when I bought this radio because I had such poor reception from other radios I had bought no matter where I placed the radio in my house. Only two stops passed and those weren't the ones that interested me. I really enjoy listening to many stations on this radio - I'm pleasantly surprised! Good price!

Well made, good reception

I've tried several SDR radios and have always been disappointed with the reception, especially with weaker stations. This radio is well built, a little big but very nice. The reception is excellent and the sound quality is very good. The controls feel solid and are easy to set up and use. I am very happy. It would be nice if it allowed external power, but battery life seems good.

Hey, this is great for my bathroom.

The ONLY improvement I would make is that when you first turn it on it's difficult to turn on VERY VERY smoothly. it kind of goes LOUD and I need to turn it down quickly (but I can do it). I like the tone controls - very useful when I'm in the shower trying to hear the news / make it harder / less bassy. The handles are big for dumb old big kids like me haha. The sound is just fantastic - everyone is SINGING! I'm glad I bought it / good pen and antenna. TO WIN!

Works great, clear sound

I live south of Mobile Alabama here in the Panhandle. I was amazed by the sound quality and the clarity of the channels. I get great reception and use it with an AC plug or type D batteries. I'm tired of turning off my streaming channels and having to talk to the system. Transistor radios were the best invention. Just turn the knob and go. First purchase was DOA, overbought for the AM band, very poor reception for this size.

After a long search and after seeing enough positive reviews, I bought this radio. The first was DOA so I requested a replacement and sent the first one back. It arrived two days later, to my surprise. This one worked unlike the first which had no sound. After scanning the AM/FM bands for a second radio, FM reception works reasonably well with the antennas fully extended.
