I've had a Porter Cable orbital sander for probably 20 years or more. The original pad used self-adhesive grinding wheels. The cushion rubber has deteriorated and most of it has hardened and broken off. I thought the mill would have to be thrown away. This pad wasn't cheap, but it was a lot cheaper than the new random orbit sander, especially considering the high quality of the sander.
