Type of review

Don't worry, I'm not the type of person who doesn't understand what a product review is good for. I bought one of these for $6 or so. mine didn't work. The seller is well done, he returned the money, and I threw away the goods. Not feeling sure about ordering another one, I saw a few bucks more, like $10 so I could get a 4-way switch. I've only connected 2 computers to the same monitor, but this way I have options for the future. and I didn't actually have to rob a bank to do it. You don't give

VGA switch on external components

I received this two button mechanical switch in early November 2011 and now early March 2012. 400 times. Initially, the switch worked well, allowing me to connect two computers to one monitor. However, now when I switch it to one of the legs, the monitor sometimes turns bluish. Then I have to toggle it back and forth to clear the haze. My guess is that one or more of the internal connections are not making proper contact. There is no real product warranty, and it also exceeds 90 days, the…

good positive switches

Maybe not all lines are connected to the VGA connector (which is used for monitor ID, among other things). These additional connections are not required in 99% of cases. It works with computer video outputs and I do it with multiple machines. For the money this is a bargain. Metal body, beautiful positive switches and pure iron. I don't see any of the resolution issues that are common with software and/or more complex switches. I have several different switches and if you just want to switch…

Works well for me

It works great in my application. I'm using it with an old MAG Innovision VGA monitor, switching between the receiver's HDMI output and the computer's graphics card. I have two monitors in my room and I use the 24" ASUS as my main monitor. The IoGear HDMI receiver receives the signal from my media room, which I watch on an old monitor with an HDMI to VGA converter, which in turn is connected to a junction box is plugged in. The bottom line is that I can watch NFL football in my home office and…

The video quality has deteriorated a lot

Revain's description says it is a Linkstyle TOOGOO model, but I have a FJGEAR FJ-15-2 model. Maybe it doesn't matter. Outwardly they look the same. This switch significantly reduced the quality of my video. I have a home security camera with a DVR and wanted to use my existing VGA computer monitor. I wanted to use this switch to switch between computer and dash cam. Seems easy enough. Video quality from a DVR or computer is good with a direct cable. But when I turn on that switch, the quality…

Simple, cheap, works

The item that was delivered was black with white lettering and silver buttons that said '2PORT (how sport?) VGA SWITCH – WIDESCREEN'. A pleasant surprise. Not quite gray with purple like in the picture, this is 1990's and not in the spirit of nostalgia. I'm still waiting for the third cable to arrive in the mail, but it's been tested on all ports. Everything works great without image loss. I assume it recognizes a preset resolution from any computer, the signal as is because they are displayed…

Perfect fit for my Xbox 360 and Mac Mini

So I have a small booth with a 20" monitor (with a VGA input) and wanted to connect both my Mac Mini and XBox. Until recently, the solution was: awkwardly unplugging a clumsy VGA cable and plugging in another (unscrew the retaining latches, pull out, try to align the other cable in the tightest of spaces out of sight, then tighten the latches again). Thing works great: both swell plug into the box and the 3rd cable to the monitor. Ready. Then simply click to select a different monitor. So it…

My screen is shaking.

Switches are OK, no defects. However, and I hope I'm not blaming the wrong people/product for this or not using it for its intended purpose, but when I put this box between my computer and my monitor (so I can switch to another monitor across the room can), my display suddenly appears as if I selected a low-resolution desktop display. In other words, the icons are huge and the font is huge. I reconnect the direct line to my monitor and you can still see the large display, then it resets after…
