🚗 Power Gear 94394 180W Car Inverter Review

I bought this product for my boyfriend because we love to walk everywhere, park and watch movies and we don't always forget our laptop charge. Now that we have that. We're always on the go. The only downside is that it makes a bit of noise at times (not much), but that's to be expected since it's a small cog that does a lot of work.

I bought this inverter to power some things when camping especially my air mattress pump which draws 160w. When I received the product I saw that the inverter is actually 90 watts with a peak of 180. Since the spike is only a second or two before the breaker turns off, this thing is useless to me. I checked the description - nowhere does it say that 180 peak. Let the buyer be alert.

Hey this thing charges my laptop, DS, PSP etc without overheating like a wimp. The small fan inside does its job really well. I imagine GAYMEN LAPTOP chargers might not be able to handle this, but for most people it will be more than enough to power whatever you need to charge on the go. It doesn't have USB ports, but you shouldn't buy one if you just want to charge an iPad or similar, as there are about a billion USB car chargers 10 times cheaper than this one.

I like the angles of the connector and the built in fan but I was sent two of these items (1 new, 1 used) and both were dead , no electricity. I checked all the connections in the vehicles with my other 100w inverters and they worked fine. I even connected it directly to the car battery with a cable. Still dead. My other inverters also passed this direct connection test. Couldn't find a replacement fuse. Feel free to contact me with advice. I think there is a fundamental flaw in the circuitry…

I have friends who buy big inverters but they never need that much juice. It just drains their batteries if they're not careful. That's why I opted for the smaller inverter. Has been working great for a while. We mainly use it to charge my kids cell phones and portable DVDs, cell phones and even to boot my laptop. Sometimes we use a house extension to get to the back of our van. My only complaint is that it doesn't have USB ports, but that's partly my fault for not realizing that when I ordered
