waste of money. - Brake Adjusting Tools

Inexpensive; None of the 5 configurations worked on my Ford/Lincoln brakes. You had to write down which car brands/models it fits or doesn't fit. For me it was a waste of money.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Reliable

You don't think you need it until you get it.

A fairly simple tool, but it makes a world of difference when changing brake pads. If your caliper head is flat and has multiple shapes and no hole, you need this tool.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Frequency

Misleading picture on brake adjustment tools

The main reason I bought this tool over others listed at Revain was because the tool clearly says "Done in the USA" in the picture . However, upon receipt of the tool it says "Made in China" which is a very misleading advertisement.

Pros
  • Pleased
Cons
  • Can't remember but something was

Tough, Essential Tool

is a tool for rotating the rear caliper piston to retract it on vehicles with a cable operated parking brake with rear discs. especially many Ford/Lincolns/Jaguars. This is a well made tool that has 6 different knurl patterns to suit every style of piston I have come across. very very convenient saves time joy

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not the Best

Not sure about durability but works

Worked great on the rear calipers on my 2006 Civic Si. Unfortunately, the teeth don't seem to last long as they have rounded up a bit each time I used the tool. Of course, you won't be working on the rear brake every day, so I think it's worth using the tool once in a while.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Repair
