Powermaster 9500 Review

The Powermaster 9500 is of excellent quality and works great with our race car. this is the second one we bought here. one for our other race car also last year. easy to install. worth the price

Did a V8/4spd rebuild in my '66 Chevy II. I used a 168 tooth flywheel and had a problem with the commutator to starter clearance. Read where this starter worked on this problem. It works, but I had to smooth out the area next to the battery a bit and rearrange the pins on a tube. Would have given 5 stars but the battery and switch connections needed to exit from the back, not the side. Otherwise a high quality item.

Don't let the size fool you! These starters are strong. I have a 15:1 compression ratio BBC 468 Drag on my boat and have never had a problem with the starter since. Bought another one for my Blown 572 with the same results. Always bought other brands of gear starters that suited low compression or small displacement engines. It has one of the highest torque ratings and is a plus for getting new bolts, gaskets and index washers if needed.
