Quick Cleaner

Never used sponge filter but recently tried it on one of my aquariums. The result was so favorable that I bought two more. Literally overnight they demonstrated vastly improved cleaning of my 55 gallon aquarium that just wasn't being cleaned along with the outboard filter that seemed to need cleaning more often than I wanted. I can see that cleaning this filter will be a lot easier too.

Low maintenance, good quality

I love these filters. I have 5 total. Two in a 20 gallon tank and 3 in a slightly larger one. (30 gallons). One is supposed to make about 40-60 gallons, but I like to use several to keep the water fairly clean. In addition, the filter is very easy to maintain. My shrimp and snails usually keep dirt out, so I really only change the water once a month. The tank in the photo has been running on this rig for about 4 months if anyone can help.

I like the design. in aquarium pumps and filters

I like that these suction cups stick to glass. Other sponge filters I have, weighted underneath and sitting on the substrate, collect/catch fish droppings underneath and next to it, which now allows it to be sucked up by my canister. However, these stick to the glass so as not to pinch anything. They seem to be doing their job. I have 2 of these in my 100 gallon tank and honestly wouldn't be enough (I also have 2 large canister filters in this tank). Not sure if it will fit 60 gallons as…

Works wonders. Far Superior to Reversing Filters

This has made a HUGE difference in my planted tank. I was so disappointed in my rear filter that I had and I knew they must be the best option. This simple and affordable filter works wonders. I did not use the included air pump as I already had a larger (better) air pump to use with it. Flushing the sponges with every water change is very easy and I no longer have to constantly buy those expensive replacement filter cartridges. From now on there are sponge filters for ALL my aquariums.

The adjustable opening is very useful when moving from one aquarium to another.

Just bought a filter, used it in my 29 gallon tank and seems to be working great! The adjustable opening is very useful when moving from one aquarium to another to ensure surface mixing. I'd recommend maybe buying a small adapter as it was a bit difficult to attach the air hose, but that's by no means a disadvantage.
