I have pretty bad feet and to my surprise the foot file worked quite well on my feet. I have some problem areas on my legs that always feel rough. This foot file made smoothing these areas easier. It performs well to tackle some of the toughest terrain. I will be using this foot file weekly to keep my feet smooth.

This foot file sounds more intimidating than it is. This file is very noisy for something you have to be very careful with when using it. To file the bottom of my foot, I barely had to touch the foot with the file. I realized I was trying too hard when the file stopped spinning. It is very delicate and very difficult to file the legs enough to get to the new skin. This is a good personal care product and I recommend it.

I have very dry skin on my heels no matter what I do. Usually a metal rasp is used, but it's so easy to get cuts and bleeding heels, BUT NOT WITH THIS ONE! It has a rough enough paper that will smooth dry skin, but if you apply too much pressure it will shut down making it impossible to cause injury! Requires 3 AAA batteries (not included) - comes with a spare reel.

This file has two main disadvantages. First, although the motor spins nice and fast, it only works with very light pressure, so it takes a long time. I've had several of these and this is by far the most delicate; slowed down / slowed down. Second, it is not rechargeable. However, the heads themselves seem to last longer than most and as this has to be done slowly the smoothness is very consistent.

I usually use a rasp or nano file to smooth my heels, but this automatic file cuts that process down significantly. It's easy to use, gets the job done quickly, and saves files with ease. The heads are easily interchangeable, offering a whole range of options for people with different needs and preferences. The surfaces of the files are easy to clean with water and dry easily in air. For a quick touch up, this is a good option for me.

I didn't know it was battery operated. I've had others like this in the past. All of them are rechargeable. So having to buy batteries for it is a bit disappointing. It comes with an extra head. Others I've had came with different sand heads. This one only has one. You can only use it very carefully on the foot. While it's annoying, it keeps you from removing too much at once. I've done this before and actually burned my leg. The head is removable for easy cleaning. Great for elbows.
