🔌 Copper Air Gap by Premier Products - PCP-503ORB in Oil Rubbed Bronze Review

I bought an air gap for my dishwasher from a large hardware store nearby. It was thin and could bend and didn't stick to the countertop. The price was cheap and this one was comparatively expensive, but it was worth it.

Replaced old bronze air gaps rubbed with oil. Inside, the old air gap was white and the gasket was white. This one is much better as the interior and seal are a dark bronze color. I used teflon lines at the top and bottom before tightening to ensure a snug fit (the threads are plastic. I recommend this step). Looks great.

We have replaced our kitchen faucet with a Delta touchless faucet. Since it was an expensive purchase, I didn't want to skimp on the air gap next to it. That looks great! You'll never know it wasn't bought by the same company. It was easy to install. The details look solid. This is excellent quality. It is the perfect complement to a bronzed faucet.

Considering it's twice the price of a white or green chrome cap air gap I was disappointed with the quality. The metal cover and air gap were fine. The gasket that goes between the gauge and the lock nut was very cheap styrofoam instead of rubber and broke right after installation. The manufacturer must supply a real rubber seal. I gave it a 2 for durability because the foam tends to run out over time, especially in hard water.

Building regulations make air gaps a necessary evil in our region. We have thick granite countertops and most air gaps - even name brand products - just don't have long enough threads to go through our granite. Our faucet is finished in Moen's Mediterranean bronze finish. This air gap matches the Moen finish, goes through thick granite (Moen didn't), and costs half the price of Moen. It looks good, appears to be well made and was sold at a reasonable price. What else do you need?
