Size matters.: Wick

This #6 square braided wick seems to work great in my 2.5 inch beeswax candles. No tunnels and seems to burn clean. For reference, #4 created a 1.5 inch tunnel.

Product GR8, immediate delivery, excellent value for money!

Great value for money, wick as described, prompt dispatch! What else can a customer expect than that kind of "old school" customer service, the kind of service your grandfather told you was "used" as standard procedure :-).

Great for a large jar size (22 oz)

I had a large jar candle (22 oz size). I used this wick to cut the wax to the desired size, then melted it and poured the wax into an empty candle jar. It worked great. Size #6 is ideal as it melts the entire surface of the candle and ensures an even burn. Whereas a smaller wick would not achieve this. Instead of losing a $20 candle, I can now enjoy it.

Made a successful candle on the first try!

I saw a candle making guide that recommended this cotton wick. I am just starting out in candle making but I am reassured that I had a very useful candle on my first try. Since all candle making websites state that the wick is the most important element, I'm pretty sure my success is due to this wick. I was nervous about having to "prep" this wick, but it was as easy as peeling pears - just dip in melted wax, flatten and let dry. It stood alone in a jar with a small amount of wax. Couldn't be…

Perfect house candles!

I decided to make my own beeswax candles because of the terribly toxic synthetic fragrances and dyes in commercial candles. I bought this candle wick on a blog recommendation from a homemade candle website. The size of the glass and wick is critical to getting a good candle burning. My very first attempt at making candles was a great success. This wick is perfect for my 3 inch candle jar. The wax I use is a 50/50 mix of beeswax and coconut oil. With a burning time of 2-3 hours, the candle melts

The dimensions depend on the wax used.

I've been experimenting with these square braided wicks made from paraffin and beeswax. The two waxes appear to be on opposite ends of the spectrum. Paraffin burns too easily and beeswax hardly burns. However, other beeswax sources may work better. I can only rate what I have at the moment. This wick's #4 beeswax-only wick does not appear to hold a 2" candle in a container, although this product's description says it will hold candles up to 4" in diameter. The wick gets shorter and shorter…
