Description of Prepworks Progressive Collapsible Salad Spinner

The patented design of this innovative collapsible salad spinner is a customer favorite. The internal basket and external bowl collapses to almost half the expanded size for storage. The non-skid base makes spinning stable and easy. You can spin your salad then serve in the outer 3 qt. (3.3L) bowl. This item is dishwasher safe for easy clean up.

Lid handle broke after a few uses, can be refitted

Overall a good salad bowl, especially for the price. The spinning/lib button isn't the best, it broke off after a few uses, but I managed to reattach it. The foldable aspect is great for storage in my tiny apartment but as other reviews have mentioned it is quite difficult to fold/unfold. I would buy it again considering how well it works, easy to clean and easy to store.

Not suitable for washing in the dishwasher.

I would like to give five stars because the concept is amazing. BUT there are two main problems. 1: The rotary handle is unwieldy and too short. Difficult to grab and turn. 2: Although it is written that it can be washed in the dishwasher when folded. Mine melted and cracked and I washed it on the top shelf. Luckily Amazon replaced it without question but it was still a hassle to box it up and take it to UPS and wait for a replacement when I washed it as advertised. But I'm grateful they…

How could I ever do without one of them?

I've never owned a salad spinner - why? . Hmm interesting. I used it the day it arrived and wondered how I managed without it. Wet salad and fruit are torment. The problem is solved. One question - it is written that the bowl and colander can be washed in the dishwasher in the folded position. The lid/crank mechanism should be hand washed. The lid/crank mechanism is a difficult part to clean. Washing other folded parts will not clean the creases. A minor issue as it's just as easy to hand wash…

from 2014 to 2021 and still valid!

I bought this product in 2014 and it is now 2/2021. I still have the product and it still works. I've used it like a regular colander to wash, clean and dry veggies, herbs, berries and even grapes! I would say I usually use it 1-2 times a week but during harvest time (I have my own garden) I will use it multiple times when preparing food to freeze. I am very happy with how much water it removes from food. For best results, I recommend spinning once, throwing the green with your hands, and then…

  • There's something to it

Does what it's supposed to do, but not easily

I like it, but I don't like it. I paid more for this than a clumsy spinner because I really wanted to make it smaller and put it away. It folds to about the width of a typical college textbook, making it easy to store but a little tricky to fold and unfold. In my experience I've unfolded it when buying new salads, but then left it expanded until I'd eaten the entire salad - about 3 or 4 turns before washing and finally putting back in the cupboard. Meanwhile, when waiting in the waiting…

It really works! Dishwasher Safety UPDATE

Update after a few years of use: It still works and I still give it 5 stars BUT I have to take back a bit of what I originally wrote. The spinner cannot be fully washed in the dishwasher. I accidentally put the inner basket on the bottom shelf and it warped on one side, it went flat on the side that was down about 3 inches. This has led to several problems. First, a crack started to develop in the inner basket in the flattened part, which gradually got worse as I flattened and unfolded it…
